A Day in the Field with Your Jack Russell Terrier

  • Monday, April 29, 2013
  • 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Canton, Texas Area - I20 60 miles east of Dallas.

A morning of hunting for novice dogs under the guidance of experienced hunters and JRTCA sanctioned Working Judges, Joe Shapiro and David Day.

Held the day after the Spring Fling Trials to make it possible for our out-of-town exhibitors to participate.  The hunt will be on the farm of a SWJRTN friend near Canton, TX and is ideal for a dog's first time in the field.  The quarry is opossum and racoon.

The hunt will be limited to six dogs and their handlers.  Radio collars will be provided.  The dogs will have to respond well to recall commands to be allowed off leash.

More details will follow regarding hotel rooms near the site, meals and preparing your dog for the hunt. Until then if you have any questions contact Karen Toombs at 903-312-8258 or president@swjrtn.com.

SWJRTN is proud to offer this special opportunity for new dogs to begin this noble sport.  Our thanks in advance to Joe and David for offering this to our members.
